  • Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the company s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.

  • Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates distributed for use by all of Finance within the Division or PCC and ensure quality, accuracy and focused analytic review.

  • Responsible for day-today review and reconciliation daily flex to ensure accuracy and proper Accounting treatments.

  • Taking ownership of preparation of the Weekly Operations Review reporting packages which include weekly financial close, analysis and recovery to the Quarterly targets.

  • Perform monthly changes in financial position/budget variance analysis and rolling forecasts within the Quarter.

  • Track actual progress toward the forecast, reporting on all variances and potential for changes.

  • Research and help resolve anomalies for departmental spending and assist department managers with explanation and cost containment.

  • Analyze overall plant spend to identify areas of cost-takeout opportunity.

  • Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed, investigate and report to the Controller any inconsistencies or improprieties.

  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance projects as assigned.

  • Prepares capital requests (ECAR) and works with project managers to develop financial ROI and payback.

  • Annually assist Controller with bottoms up budget preparation by department, budget flash/proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justifications.

  • Assist with product cost development and cost savings calculations, creating budgets, forecasts and activity rates.

  • Demonstrate insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to assist Controller provide practical counsel to business area managers and the plant General Manager in order to drive business results.

  • Responsible for Annual Corporate Income Tax package.

  • Actively identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities throughout Carlton Forge Works.

  • Closing the books

  • Assist with month end closing processes, maintain the general ledger, generate monthly journal entries and reconcile accounts.

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Perform and maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for all inventories, including calculations and analysis of Excess & Obsolete, FCA and LCM.

  • Fixed Asset Accounting, using Corporate based FAS, and biannual fixed asset inventory.

  • May act as a back-up to Accounts Receivable/Payable.


  • Be an active and informed participant in financial and ERP system implementations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience & Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

    • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred

    • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

    • Knowledge of Oracle, FAS and Blackline is a plus

    • SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) reporting experience is preferred

    • Public accounting experience with manufacturing clients is a plus

    • Qualified candidates have the following:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • High-end user of Microsoft Excel

    • Strong analytical skills

    • Team player with a positive attitude and self-motivation

    • Ability to learn quickly and independently

    • Ability to work in an exceptionally fast-paced environment

    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment would be highly preferred

    • Comprehensive knowledge of the workings of a P&L and balance sheet

    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret financial data with an understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements as well as company policies, procedures and internal controls.

    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
