Surgical Services Manager

Promise Hospital of SUBURBAN: The Surgical Services Manager is responsible for planning, directing, controlling and staffing of surgery clinical services (Pre-op, OR, SPD and PACU) to provide quality service to the surgeons, staff and patients. Helps prepare and monitor department(s) budgets. Maintains active communication among medical staff, interdepartmental staff, and surgery staff and ensures quality care, issue resolution and competency of staff. Consults with staff, physicians, and DON on procedures and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Must be able to manage the departments and the provision of service according to the Standards of Nursing Practice consistent with facility philosophy of care and state and federal laws and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must hold a current California state RN license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Bachelor s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in a perioperative environment in a major multi-specialty OR preferred
  • Minimum two years of progressive management experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and practice
  • Familiar with the preparation of financial reports/budgets preferred
  • Current AHA approved BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    EXPOSURE RISK:Category I- Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills and splashes. Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.

    CERTIFICATIONS: AHA BLS certification required, AHA ACLS certification required, Specialty Certification recognized, PICC Line Insertion Certification recognized

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
