PrecisionTemps specializes in staffing for manufacturing and warehousing positions. We are currently seeking a Press Operator. Shift - 1st Shift/2nd shifts - Rotate schedules, 1 week 3/ 10's 1st shift 5am-3:30pm/2nd shift 3pm-1:30am and the next week 4 /12 - 1st shift 5am-5:30pm/2nd shift 5pm-5am (Will work weekends) Temp to perm -possible 6 month temp assign.

Job Purpose:
Pressman Job Description
The Pressman reports directly to the Production Manager. The Pressman position carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: Production, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Quality Control. The Pressman's primary responsibility is to operate a Press Machine and other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager. The Pressman is responsible for the production and processing of raw materials, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of goods. A Pressman services, repairs, adjusts, and tests machines and devices with equipment that operates primarily on the basis of mechanical principles. The Pressman will also estimate the quantifiable characteristics of products. The Pressman communicates shift recap with manager and co-workers and uses judgment and decision making to solve problems. Pressman must follow safety procedures at all times to promote a safe working environment.
Essential Functions:
Provides data to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person regarding issues and summary of work in progress and finished at the end of shift.
Makes ready and operates web-fed press to process jobs according to written specifications: Locks printing plates on printing cylinder and threads loose end of paper supply roll (web) through and around rollers to cutter and folder.
Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, specifications, or special printing instructions.
Monitor inventory levels on a regular basis, ordering or requesting additional supplies as necessary.
Inspect and examine finished products for conformance to specifications and defects.
Removes finished material from presses using hoists and transporting them to finishing areas.
Clean, oils, change press plates or cylinders, or make minor repairs as needed on presses.
Collect and inspect random samples during print runs to identify any necessary adjustments.
Maintain production records of goods produced, completed jobs, run times, supplies used, machine maintenance and repair activities.
Monitor feeding, printing, and racking processes of presses in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions; make any necessary adjustments.
Start presses and pull proofs to check for alignment, and registration.
Reposition printing plates, adjust pressure rolls, or otherwise adjust machines to improve print quality.
Inspects printed sheets visually after registration or position printing and readjusts guides and controls to rectify spacing errors.
Adjusts feed controls to rotate cylinder into position where plate locking mechanism is accessible.
Unlocks plates and replaces with make-over plates according to directions marked on plate regarding location and time of printing. Readjusts tension rollers.
Cleans, inspects, and lubricates moving parts of press

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
